Justin Franssen started his career as a croupier in the casino industry while he studied both law and philosophy at the Universities of Leuven (Belgium), Maastricht and Amsterdam. Before he was admitted to the Bar he worked as a legal counsel in Amsterdam and New York for a gaming software company. Justin founded the European Gaming and Entertainment Services Group, a multi-disciplined group within the international KPMG network. He later established a dedicated gaming, betting and licensing practise group. Justin also recently co-founded GAMINGLAW.EU, the European portal on gaming law and regulation. Justin Franssen currently works as an attorney at law at Vans Mens & Wisselink N.V. Advocaten, Belastingadviseurs, Notariaat and Lawyers, Tax advisers, Civil law notary were he focuses entirely on the gaming and gambling market. Justin speaks at international gaming conferences regularly (EIG, VGF, IMGL, GIGSE, EGB) and publishes on the subject matter (Internet Gambling Report, Casino Lawyer, Gaming Law Review, World Online Gambling Report, iGaming Business, ISA-Casinos). Franssen and his colleagues at Van Mens & Wisselink are engaged in the majority of past and pending proceedings on (cross-border) gaming before the Duth courts. Justin has advised the Dutch Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economic Affairs on the regulation of the casino industry in The Netherlands and he contributed to the EC report "Study of Gambling Services in the Internal Market". Justin Franssen is the elected Dutch General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law and a member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys.
